Adult Education

Campbell County Public Schools provide free adult education classes to prepare individuals 18 years of age and older for the GED® Test. Adults who do not have the goal of earning a GED credential, including those who already have a diploma, may also enroll in classes with the goal of improving literacy and numeracy skills, learning computer skills, or developing soft skills. The program offers continuous enrollment, which means learners can begin at any time. Classes are offered on various dates during the day and the evening at multiple sites throughout Campbell County. The Adult Education Program follows the same calendar as all Campbell County Public Schools for holiday observances and closures due to inclement weather.

The GED® tests are computer based and consists of individual tests in Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning Through Language Arts, Social Studies and Science. Each test costs $30 for a total of $120, however, students enrolled in the Campbell County Adult Education Program qualify for free testing vouchers. The Virginia Department of Education issues a General Education Development Certificate and a GED Transcript to individuals who successfully pass all four of the GED® Tests. A Graduation Ceremony is held each year in June by Campbell County Schools to honor all individuals who successfully completed the GED during the school year.
